A smile slowly crept upon the creature's lips but not a sound did they make. Gazing into one another's eyes they stood as motionless as two statues, the pirate, dim and earthly, the creature glowing almost everywhere the moonlight danced upon his skin.
At last the pirate managed to speak, "Is this a dream?" his words almost trembled from him mouth.
Through parted lips in a voice so soft he might have only thought the words, the creature said, "If indeed a dream this is, noble seafarer, then I wonder which of us is asleep."
